Village Info Bucsu

Official website of the municipality (only Hungarian)

The maintained village is situated near to the Austrian border (3 km), in picturesque surroundings, with the mountain range of the Alps, forests and brooks around. First documentary
reference of the village along Arany-patak (Golden brook) derives from 1236. At that time its name was Bulcsu, referring to our second greatest commander after grand duke Árpád, whose summer residence was located here. According to the believable chronicles 10 houses and 40 inhabitants have been resided here, this number has been continuously increased over the years. After the peace dictates of Trianon the village became a border municipality. It was literally surrounded by a technical barricade which blocked it from the other regions of the country. Number of inhabitants: 620.
